Three Days and Two Nights in Windsor

During our stay, we are staying at the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel in Windsor. It is made up of several distinctive buildings clustered around a historic cobbled street at Eton Bridge. The 4-star hotel features a terrace facing the River Thames, a fitness room and a sauna.

The hotel is named after the famous scientist and architech Sir Christopher Wren, who is known as the architect of St. Paul's Cathedral in London.

Guided Tour in Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle is the largest and oldest of England's royal castles. The castle complex and garden were initiated by William the Conqueror around 1070 AD. Henrik I was the first reigning monarch to use Windsor Castle. Over time, the castle has undergone various architectural changes and expansions. Today, it stands as a testament to England's historical and royal heritage.

Unique Train Ride With Belmond British Pullman

Before we board the diesel train, a group photo will be taken. Then, we will enjoy a glass of sparkling Bellini before being served a three-course brunch as the train departs the station area. Upon returning to London later in the afternoon, we will be served a four-course dinner featuring the best ingredients that Britain has to offer. The meal will be accompanied by a cheese board, biscuits, and nuts, along with half a bottle of wine, coffee, tea, and petit fours.

The main attraction of the trip is the train journey from London Victoria Station to the medieval city of Canterbury. Restored to its former glory, the Belmond British Pullman carriages are as elegant today as they were during the golden age of train travel. They were in regular service for over 50 years from the 1880s until 1939. The Belmond British Pullman is the sister train to the famous Orient Express, known for its high standards.

As we arrive at Victoria Station, we are picked up in a waiting minibus, taking us back to our hotel in Windsor.

Storytelling and Guided Tour of Canterbury Cathedral

Canterbury Cathedral was founded by St. Augustine in the year 597 AD. The cathedral is described as a masterpiece of art and architecture. It is one of Britain's most visited historical sites and remains a unique pilgrimage destination today.

Canterbury Cathedral is also known for its rich choral tradition. The boys' choir often participates in significant religious ceremonies and concerts. Their choral singing adds a spiritual dimension to the cathedral's atmosphere.

We will gain insight into the cathedral's eventful history and be shown examples of architectural styles up to the late Middle Ages.

After visiting the cathedral, you can wander around the beautiful medieval city of Canterbury before a champagne reception on the platform just before we return to London Victoria Station.

Testing Top-quality English Sparkling Wine

We visit Bolney Wine Estate, which is one of the oldest vineyards in Sussex. Since 1976, the proprietors have produced top-quality red, white and sparkling English wines, winning many national and international awards.

The West Sussex winery was established in 1972 by Janet and Rodney Pratt. They were pioneers guided by nature – the mild climate and sandstone soil – and discovered the best grape varieties to grow in their ecosystem. The winery now produces award-winning red, white, and sparkling wines from their famous Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris to their classic sparkling Bolney Bubbly and Blanc de Blancs.

We are invited to a tour at the winery, taste award-winning wines and enjoy lunch before heading towards the airport.
